Golden Retrievers are gentle, patient dogs bred for retrieving game on the hunt. They're famously good-natured and eager to please, which makes them wonderful family dogs — though their size and enthusiasm can create challenges during adolescence.
Golden Retriever owners know their dog means well — every jumped-on visitor and stolen sock is done with a wagging tail and a smile. But at 30+ kilos, that enthusiasm needs some structure. If your Golden is the one at the park who won't come back, or the one who greets every guest by practically sitting on them, you're in very good company.
