Moodle Training

Do you have a Moodle that needs some training help? Natalie from Crazy Kind Calm dog training can help!

With over 900 dogs trained across the Macedon Ranges, Natalie understands the unique personality and needs that come with this wonderful breed.

Moodles (Maltese × Poodle) are small, affectionate companion dogs who combine the Maltese's devotion with the Poodle's intelligence. They're charming little dogs who bond deeply with their owners — sometimes a little too deeply.

Common Moodle traits and training needs

  • Prone to separation anxiety — these are companion dogs who hate being apart from you
  • Can be barky, especially at visitors, other dogs, and unexpected noises
  • May develop resource guarding over toys, food, or their favourite person
  • Can be difficult to toilet train, particularly in cold or wet weather
  • Sensitive temperament that doesn't respond well to firm corrections
  • May become snappy or nippy when handled roughly or startled

Moodle owners adore their little companion's devotion and personality. But if your Moodle barks at every sound, follows you from room to room in a panic, or has become possessive of your lap, those are very common patterns in this cross. They're clever little dogs who respond beautifully to gentle, consistent training — and their small size makes it easy to underestimate how much they benefit from proper guidance.

"Cannot recommend enough! Natalie has helped us work with not one, but 2 family dogs. Our first was a rescue with sever behavioral problems and now we are currently working on our very big and cheeky deerhound puppy. Her expertise in all areas of dog behavior is amazing and her techniques are positive, make sense and she always takes the time to explain why and how a particular technique will help. We are so happy to have Natalie teaching us what a true dog/human partnership is."
